Welcome to Expensif (“we,” “us,” or “our”), a minimal expense tracker. Expensif does not require an account and does not send your data to any servers we control. Your expenses and settings are stored locally on your device using the browser’s local storage.

2. Information We Collect

We do not collect personal information. Specifically:

• No account or identity data (no email, name, or password).
• No analytics, cookies, pixels, or tracking technologies.
• No server-side databases or cloud sync by default.

2.1 Data Stored on Your Device

• Expense Data: amounts, categories, notes, and timestamps you enter—saved only via local storage on your device.
• Settings: preferences like currency or theme—also saved locally.

3. How Your Data Is Used

Your data is used solely within the app to display and manage your expenses on your device. We do not process your data on remote servers.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, share, or transmit your data to third parties. Because data is stored locally, we do not have access to it.

5. Storage, Security & Deletion

• Storage: Data is saved in your browser’s local storage (or on-device storage in the mobile app).
• Security: Local storage is controlled by your device/browser. Keep your device secure to protect your data.
• Deletion: Use the app’s “Reset/Clear data” feature (if provided), clear site data for expensif.app in your browser settings, or uninstall the mobile app.

6. Exports (Optional)

If you choose to export your data, the export file is generated on your device. You decide where to save or share it.

7. Children’s Privacy

Expensif is a general-purpose finance tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy if the app’s functionality changes (for example, if we add optional sync). We will update the effective date above and publish the new version here.
